Since 1 January 2026, far-reaching changes have been in force in the Swiss Code of Obligations for property purchase and works contracts. Buyers and customers now benefit from a mandatory 60-day notice period and an unrestricted right to rectification, particularly in the case of turnkey constructions. At the same time, however, conflicts arise with the SIA 118 standard, which require special attention in practice.
